What Happens After You Place a Standard Insights Order

Your workspace now shows Setting up. That is the first of four stages between payment and report delivery. Here is what happens at each one.

Setting up

The moment payment is confirmed, your workspace moves to Setting up and you will receive an Order Confirmed email. Simultaneously, the survey is duplicated to the Standard Insights internal workspace and the team is notified. Both happen automatically and require nothing from you.

The team reviews the order before fieldwork launches: survey design for DIY orders, brand and contextual inputs for modules, and audience criteria, confirming everything is configured correctly and feasible to field. This review runs in the background; your workspace shows Setting up throughout.

If the team has a question before launching, they will contact you directly by email. If the order cannot proceed for any reason, which is rare, that contact happens before fieldwork begins, not after. There are no automated alerts for exceptions; all issue handling is direct and human.

Typical duration is under 24 hours.

In field

The panel is live and responses are being collected.

You will receive a Study in Field email at this stage. That email includes an expected completion date, which is your primary timeline reference for the rest of the wait. Nothing is required from you during this stage.

Your order page shows the current stage and key dates, but not a live response count. Duration varies: standard modules with nationally representative audiences typically complete within 24 hours. DIY surveys with harder-to-reach or lower-incidence audiences may take longer, and the expected completion date in your Study in Field email accounts for this.

Processing

All responses have been collected. Your report is now being generated.

There is no email at this stage. The gap between field close and report delivery is short enough that an interim notification would arrive almost simultaneously with the report itself. If your workspace shows Processing, the report is on its way.

This stage is intentionally brief.

Report ready

Your report is delivered to your workspace and you will receive a Report Ready email with a direct link.

Three days after delivery, you will receive a short personal note from the founder. It is not an automated follow-up, and not triggered by anything you need to do. It is a direct check-in asking whether the findings did what they needed to do.

You can check your order status at any time from your workspace. The order page shows the current stage, key dates, and order details. You do not need to contact the team to find out where things stand.
